Branching out

This branch looks like it has had a challenging life so far. Like every direction it had grown was the wrong one, it course corrected, and that direction wasn't the right one either. Instead of giving up it's put out more branches going out in all directions. There is a hole at the end of the main stem of the branch that looks like a mouth, voicing it's frustration and defiance.

Update

Sad to say, this tree lost a large branch during a windy day we had last week. The owners decided it was finally time to take the old girl down. I am glad that I was able to capture a picture of her before her struggle came to an end.
