Fence

These fence sections, laying in a pile waiting to be picked up as garbage, are part of a fence that I put together over 25 years ago in the front yard of a house we rented. The house is about a mile away from where we live now.

I put the fence up because the kids were at the age where we had to make sure they wouldn't accidentally toddle out onto the steet. I would never have thought that that fence would have lasted 10 years let alone over 25. There are lots of photos and myriad more memories that include that fence in them. In those it's new and very white.

The photos and the memories, much like the fence, are a little warn. I grabbed part of one of the pickets to bring home. like the memories, I wanted to hold on to a little piece of what used to be.
