Man in the woods
It was that time of day just before sundown when the shadows are longest and the sunlight has a magical quality to it. You notice the sunlight where it's hitting, not because it is suddenly hitting those spots (it was shining there all day) but because as the sun slides downward and it retreats behind houses and trees and eventually the horizon, it's lights seems to slowly pull away like a wave on the shore receding back into the ocean.
Looking around at the places where the sunlight was still hitting I saw my shadow standing in the woods, looking back at me, blocking the sunlight.
