Little things that I noticed today

"Morning glory!"

I remember when I was a kid when my Dad would for some reason be up and at home in the morning while my brother, sisters and I were still sleeping. Usually on a Saturday or Sunday. He would come in and in his loud voice say "Rise and shine! Morning glory!" and take obvious enjoyment in waking us all up, especially since we really would rather not. I had no idea that there was a flower called a Morning Glory, so I thought he was calling each of us "Glory".

Yeah, I know the flower in the picture isn't a Morning Glory. The sunlight throug the petals just made me think of the phrase "Morning glory" as in "what a glorious morning" and that thought then led to another - the way they do.
