Remembrance

This tree is growing near the entrance of a memorial butterfly sanctuary honoring a young woman named Hallie Christine Jackson. I can only speculate on the nature of her passing, but based on the amount of work and dedication that have gone into the garden, and the many volunteers that I have seen still working on taking care of and improving it, she must have been loved very much. I hope that it brings some peace for the friends and family who decided to take their pain and sadness and channel it into something beautiful and hopeful.

In addition to the sanctuary there is also a non-profit organization, Hope for Hallie, that was founded in remembrance of Hallie that is dedicated to helping teens and adolescents with their mental health.
